What is Osteopathy ?

Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine which recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions.

Osteopaths focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function as a holistic unit. Using skilled evaluation, diagnosis and a wide range of hands-on techniques, Osteopaths may be able to identify dysfunction in your body. Osteopathic treatment uses techniques such as stretching and massage for general treatment of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) along with mobilisation of specific joints and soft tissues.

In Australia, Osteopaths are government registered practitioners who complete a minimum of five years’ University training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis and Osteopathic Techniques.

Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners and are trained to recognise conditions which require medical referral. They are also trained to perform standard medical examinations of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory and nervous systems.

Osteopathy is covered by most private health funds and the Medical Enhanced Primary Care scheme. Osteopaths are registered providers for workers’ compensation schemes and motor accident insurers.

We understand that you are not living your best life possible unless your mind and body are completely healthy. Holistic Healing and Pain Management

Our goal is to provide alternative medical care that will compliment or underpin conventional medicine, slow or help manage the onset of acute pain and  limited function caused by chronic pain and damage as a result of injury, surgery, genetics or disease by using the fundamental Osteopath Healing Principal  "Structure Governs Function". Our results prove the best way to heal the natural body is to take a Holistic approach to what is causing the dysfunction and create a management plan that supports a road to either recovery, pain management or compliments conventional medicine.

Osteopathy - A Holistic approach to natural Pain Relief

We specialise in non-narcotic practices in healing pain such as headaches, chronic pain, joint pain, muscular skeletal discomfort and back pain. We use an array of proven methods such as soft tissues massage, laser treatment, osteopathic care, and rehabilitation. Our goal is to treat and relieve your pain through a holistic management plan which may reduce the need to rely on using pharmaceuticals for permanent or temporary relief.

Osteopaths can treat many chronic and acute diseases, in addition to managing or suppressing them. Our Practitioners are able to provide a deeper knowledge and holistic approach towards the healing benefits by understanding the connections between mental, emotional, and physical complaints.
